The launch of the Tsiolkovsky manned spacecraft is scheduled on September 21. Its crew includes members of the 68th long-term expedition to the ISS - Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopiev and Dmitry Petelin, a former NIK employee and a good friend of our company, as well as NASA astronaut Francisco Rubio.
On August 25 to create ballistic conditions for the launch the Progress MS-20 cargo spacecraft carried out a maneuver that corrected the ISS orbit.
According to crew captain Sergei Prokopiev, up to 5 spacewalks are planned for the expedition, for example, the crew will have to install a special SKKO platform on "Nauka".
On September 7 the cosmonauts tried on the Sokol-KV2 rescue suits and tested them for tightness, then they checked the service equipment in the Soyuz MS-22 spacecraft, studied the flight program, got acquainted with the onboard documentation and cargo delivered to the ISS. They also practiced dynamic operations and supervised stacking with equipment and materials.
We look forward to hearing about this event and invite you to join! We will try to share the news with you in a timely manner and later share a link to the take-off broadcast.
